Building a Website From Scratch

When people want to build a website from scratch they spend so much time on the internet without any plan or idea to what they want to accomplish.

They spend hours on forums, other websites, going through their emails or even download the occasional ebook or two.

Now please don't scold yourself if this sounds like you, with no clear direction or guidance, we are all guilty of doing this, and I include myself of doing this.

If you are really serious about making money on the internet, you need to adopt a different mind-set.

Let me explain some of the things with you, like the process of making money on the internet.

There has never been a better time to start an online business, and don't think you are too late.

For example, Google is only 12 years old, we are only at the beginning of the online revolution, you can reach an unlimited audience and the costs to get online are nominal compared to a bricks and mortar business.

However, there are a few new skills you need to learn, and for some reason or another, the internet has a reputation of being quick and easy, as you know, this is not true.

Without any guidance, and all the things you can learn about the internet can bombard you all at once, and then we get information overload and then we find it confusing and eventually quit.

What we need to do is to break down all the elements about building a web business and tackle them one at a time.

The new skills we will learn are things like having the correct mind-set, you need to get over the fear about the internet, and the definition of a skill is that it is learnable.

You need to know how to create a web page, upload files, learn about autoresponders and generate traffic. Don't worry, all these skills you will learn, and you only need to learn them once, and once learnt, nobody can take that knowledge away.

And with these new skills, we can apply it to our web business. However, a lot of people think they can put up a website with a sales page and make money, this is not the way.

Unfortunately cold selling is very difficult. The process should be this:

1. Drive people to our website

2. Offer them a free gift (it can be an ebook or a video) in exchange for their name and email address.

3. Keep building your email list.

4. Then we can promote to our list.
